Upper Animas Rafting

snow on rafts

Well, our 2nd annual Upper Animas trip is in the books and the best thing about it is the fact that we are all alive and safe.  The water levels this past weekend were huge and it made it so much more enjoyable.  Once again, Mountain Waters Rafting did an amazing job with the camp and guiding us down the river.  This year we decided on the three day trip and honestly, this will be the only way we do the trip in the future.  Our friends utilized that day for hiking, relaxing, fly fishing, and of course, helping Todd and I film. The weather was the biggest concern and Colorado never lets us down with keeping it interesting.  40 mph wind gusts on Saturday and sunny, high 60′s sunny and warm on Sunday, and we wake up to an inch of snow on Monday.

This years show is going to be different than anything we have done in the past and we are looking forward to the release.  Recipes from the trip to follow as well as more details.  Don’t want to spoil the video.

I want to thank Arizona Rubs, Montanya Rum, John Boos, Ska Brewing and Durango Joes for sponsoring the trip.  Also wanted to thank the Durango Silverton Train for helping with logistics on the trip.  Stay tuned for more from this…..

  1. AMAZING TRIP. 3 days definitely the way to go. Mountain Waters Rafting guides are true professionals in every sense. The food at camp was awesome. Bacon at every meal. Thanks to the crew of CMF for putting this together. Already saving for next year. Can’t wait.

  2. Raftin’…..my new favorite thing to do.
