I bet I know what you are thinking. How in the world could I have missed episode 9? I love the CookManFood show and I would have remembered a 9 as all of their shows are amazing, life changing works of art. Well, the fact is, we did not post episode 9 yet. You are not losing your mind and you are still a true loyal fan of our site.

Here it is Episode 10 and our Memorial Day BBQ show. We had a great time filming this one and we had a film crew come out and help us take our show to the next level. This show we featured out new train smoker and filled it near capacity. We used about 85 pounds of meat from Sunnyside Farms, wood chunks from http://www.rockytrail.com, BBQ sauce from Melanie’s Fine Foods, Jimbo’s Rubs from New England Cupboard, and had beer on hand from Carvers Brewing. We had an amazing event that followed the filming and had a great meat to person ratio 1.5:1. We want to thank all of our sponsors who made this show possible as well as Tyler from Action House Media Productions for taking us to the next level.

I should have written this post last night but honestly, I was absolutely exhausted. Anyhow, this weekend was one of the busiest we have had here at CookManFood. We filmed two shows this weekend, put on a huge event for our partners and friends, and put a lot of great products in front of people. Here is a timeline and products used:

Friday – Received a ton of products in the mail for the event and filming. Melanie’s Fine Foods sent some BBQ sauce, Cervantes Chili, Rocky Trail sent some wood for smoking, Miss Anna’s sent us another shipment of sauces, and New England Cupboard got us a bunch of their rubs.

Saturday – Prepped the house for the event. Had 90lbs of meat from Sunnyside show up at my house at 3pm and got them into a brine within an hour. Got the brisket on the smoker by 7pm and had an awesome dinner with my friends while we tended the fire. Drank some wine, lambic, and some Jackelope Gin.

Sunday – Got up early and got the smoker going again. It was pouring rain as it did most of the weekend but that did not stop us. Our film crew showed up at 10am and we were filming within the hour. Got most of the smoker show done before noon featuring Big Acres BBQ sauce, New England Cupboard Rubs, and wood from Rocky Trail. The Event started at 1pm and went until 10 or so. 80 lbs of meat was cooked and all but ten pounds remained at the end. We also had two kegs of beer on hand from Carvers Brewing.

Monday – Spent the first few hours cleaning up but then filmed our breakfast show featuring Cervantes Chili, Goat Vodka, Durango Joes Coffee, Sunnyside Meats, and Oxford Falls Bloody Mary Mix. We cooked our Ultimate Breakfast Christmas style (both red and green chili) and ate until our hangovers were completely vanished.

Quite the weekend and I am sure I left a few things out. I have to say that I am still recovering slightly and am off to bed early. Looking forward to releasing four new videos in the next few weeks.

With it being BBQ Week here at CookManFood OK Month; fine Season, we thought it would be good to start featuring more BBQ related products. We get all sorts of products sent to us all the time and only a handful make it to our site. We really pride ourselves on bringing our readers some of the best products from the smaller mom and pop type businesses in America. They put pride behind their products rather than just mass produce them. Jimbo’s BBQ Rubs brought to us by New England Cupboardfits that quality. New England Cupboard is a small company out of Hampden, ME. They have a great line of well rounded rubs, they are all natural, and contain no MSG. Their line includes the flavors of Hickory, Garlic, Regular, Mesquite, Hot and Spicy, and Mexican. We have worked with them now for a few months and will be featuring their lineup in our upcoming BBQ and Smoking show filming this weekend. For someone that has eaten BBQ twenty five of the last thirty days at least, let me tell you that these rubs are outstanding. They are so well balanced and no flavor is over powering at all. You find that many rubs try to bring the heat or cover up imperfections by adding MSG but Jimbo’s does not indulge in any of that. You can pick them up at: http://www.newenglandcupboard.com/spice-rubs.php and be sure to also check out their other amazing products.
