I was just scanning over the upcoming and past events on the IFOCE websiteand I can’t believe that in this day and age where bacon is the number one food trend that there is no bacon eating contest?  Does CookManFood just need to start one of our own, in little old Durango, to give bacon its place on the list?  What are the steps to create an event like this?  I guess I better start researching.   Please, someone tell me I am mistaken and there is such an event.  I would even settle for a Nathan’s bacon wrapped hot dog eating competition.  That would allow me to sleep at night.  What do you think?  Is this a good idea?

1 Tbsp of butter
1/4 small onion minced
2 Hot Dogs
Spicy Mustard
Miss Anna’s Hot Pepper Sauce

Get a small non-stick skillet going on high and add the butter.  Next add the hot dogs and brown on all sides.  I could have used the grill for these but for some reason hot dogs taste better fried in butter. While they are cooking throw 2 buns in the toaster oven and then chop the onion.  When the buns are done, line the inside with the minced onions, I put a ton in there.  Next put in the dogs and top with a bead of spicy mustard and a bead of Miss Anna’s sauce.  You got heat, you got onion and you got butter.  Crack open some Ska True Blonde Ale and enjoy.

I would have put up a picture but my camera is in need of a 270 WSM round going through it at 200 yds.  Time to upgrade.
