Altitude Spirits – Vodka 14

As the resident Vodka enthusiast for CookManFood.com, I am always excited when the opportunity arises to taste a different brand of my favorite liquid. When presented with a bottle of Vodka 14, made by Altitude Spirits and based in Boulder, CO,  I did not waste any time in sampling. Here are some facts taken from their website, www.vodka14.com.

Vodka 14 is made with Rocky Mountain spring water and USDA Certified Organic Grain. Their fermentation process allows them to not use any chemical additives whatsoever.  As an environmental friendly company, they ensured that every part of the Vodka 14 package can be recycled at most recycling plants, which is very respectable and appreciated.

My first encounter with Vodka 14 was with me pouring a healthy dose over ice, my favorite way to enjoy vodka. I let it sit for a minute or two anxiously awaiting my first sip. My first sip, and the many to follow afterwards, made for my favorite vodka tasting so far. It is obvious the crafters at Altitude Spirits went great lengths to create a perfect product. This is the cleanest tasting vodka to ever grace my tongue. I could easily tell there were no chemical additives and they use the finest water available as there was no bite whatsoever that comes with some other vodka’s I’ve tried. It was simple enjoyment throughout the whole glass. Naturally, I had to try a martini with it as well. I prefer my martini’s slightly dirty with one olive which is what I sampled here. This vodka is perfect in martini form as well. I followed the martini with another one it tasted great. I did not try this vodka with any mixed drinks as it is not my style, but I can imagine they would be amazing as well.

I am absolutely blown away by the quality and craftsmanship of Vodka 14. If you are a vodka fan, please do yourself a favor and pick up a bottle soon. You can order online at www.vodka14.com and it is currently available at select retailers in Colorado and Tennessee with wider distribution coming shortly. They also update their website with new recipes that pair great with their product.
