Juicy Lucy
What is the Juicy Lucy? Besides the only way I will cook burgers moving forward, it is a creation out of the state of Minnesota. There is some controversy around where this lovely creation was actually invented but regardless, it is awesome. Basically, you take your normal serving of beef you would use to make a burger and cut it in half. Roll the first half into a ball and make it really flat. Next, take your cheese of choice and put it in the center leaving a nice gap between the cheese in the edge as shown below:
Next, take the remaining beef and create another patty and put on top. Next pick up the entire burger and make sure it is bonded together. I topped this one with some Arizona Rub and on the grill they went.
Cooked on the first side for about 8 minutes and about 5 minutes on the second side before toasting the bun. Topped it off with some blue cheese, jalepenos, and tomato and oh my was it one of the best burgers to every grace my mouth. If you haven’t tried making one of these, you better try it as it is a game changer. Oh, by the way. The larger burger (mine) was over a pound
